CALLING ALL LADIES....AGAIN!

Girl's Night In has been canceled due to a severe lack of interest. Maybe I'll try to do it again, but only if anyone shows any interest at ALL. :)

Love ya ladies. Have a great Valentine's Day!

I HATE COOKING...but love to eat!

I have a new blog...it's www.ihatecookingbutlovetoeat.blogspot.com. It is just recipes. A lot of you have asked me for various recipes over the years. They can now be found on this blog. Check it out!

TRADER JOES, I HEART you!

"There are 280-plus Trader Joe’s in more than 23 states, each one crammed with hard-to-find items, such as imported cheeses, exotic meats, international labels and organic produce. In keeping with the laid-back attitude, the staff wears retro Hawaiian shirts." ...now tell me why there are 280+ stores and NOT A SINGLE ONE IN UTAH!!! ok, so there isn't one in Utah, but there are TWO in Las Vegas...so, off I go to Trader Joes. We're heading down to Vegas next week, and this will be one of my first stops. I love Trader Joes. Their cranberry, oatmeal dunkers are to die for.

Because there isn't a Trader Joes nearby, every time I go, I have to stock up. My aunt sent a Trader Joes care package to my parents recently...I'm not going to lie, I was JEALOUS! Delicious dunkers, star shaped orange anise cookies, three cheese pasta sauce, oh Trader Joes, I heart you.
If anyone has a special Trader Joes request, please let me know what it is by this Saturday, February 14th, and I'll pick it up for you.

CALLING ALL LADIES!!!

Friday, February 13th is OFFICIALLY(by me) Girl's Night In!

My friend, Nicole, is coming over to do Glitter Toes. She is FANTASTIC! The charge for the glitter toes is $25, but if you book a party with her, she will give you $5 off.

Even if you don't want glitter toes...please come. We'll put on a chick flick, play games, eat food and just enjoy each others company. Everyone is invited, but if you want your toes done, please RSVP by Wednesday. If enough people RSVP we'll have another nail artist here to make sure everyone's toes can get done.

What better way to spend the night before Valentine' Day than by prepping your peepers for the SPECIAL DAY! Your guy will love them....probably even want to lick your cute little toes ;) if you're into that.

I'd like to take a needle and stab it in YOUR arm!

Ok, so this post really takes place a week ago...at JIFFY LUBE. Let me be the first to say that I have always had my oil changed at Jiffy Lube and even when others said they had problems there, I never did. Well, that's all about to change. I called Kenny in the morning and told him I needed to take my car in to have the oil changed, and get my safety and emissions done(NOT because my car was over two months past due on the registration...I would never be that irresponsible.) I thought it would be fun if we went to lunch while my car was being serviced. We dropped my car off and they told me it would take an hour, perfect, we would be done with lunch in an hour. After lunch Kenny dropped me off at Jiffy Lube. My car was in fact, NOT done. I waited in the waiting room...now here is where it gets good. The guy sitting in the corner of the waiting room was eating McDonald's...ok, I get it...you're trying to multitask, fine. But I'll tell you what is NOT fine...and that is licking every single finger with every single bite you take...making disgusting sounds, and making me suffer through a salad, a sandwich, and several other items, including a juice box...are you kidding me? a grown man slurping a juice box. I look at the only other guy in the waiting room, wondering if it's just me being annoyed...NOPE, it's not just me...he is glaring at the guy as well. Then our eyes meet...we both kind of laugh and try to ignore it. I can't ignore it. No matter how much I try...I tried plugging my ears...I could still hear him. I try to entertain myself by texting Kenny...but it just turns to me texting Kenny about my annoyance with this man. FINALLY, his name is called. Silence. Me and the other guy in the room try to turn the TV on so we can drown him out...it won't work. GRRRRR...back the guy comes to continue waiting for his car...at this time I can no longer sit in there, I can't do it. I go out to the garage and ask how much longer my car will be...I've been waiting for over an hour at this point. The guy says to me, "Oh, no one told you that your car was ready?" Do you think that if I had been told my car was ready, I would be out here asking you about it. "No" I said, "they didn't." I'd like to do the onsite registration I tell him for the second time... WHAT? You're out of decals? Great, my car is still unregistered. I go out to my car. It feels weird. Feels "rummaged" through. Oh well...nothing missing. Halfway home I realize they didn't put the reminder sticker in my window. I wonder, did they really even do an oil change. A couple days later my turn signals don't work. At this point I'm really bothered by Jiffy Lube, so I stop by the Lehi Jiffy Lube...they were nice, but couldn't help me either. They had me call the manager. I spoke with him, and he said he could help me if I drove out to Saratoga Springs on Thursday...that brings us to today. I woke up this morning knowing that I needed to be up in Draper to the Dr's by noon. I told Kenny when I woke up...I don't really think I should be driving to Draper with no registration and non-functioning turn signals. What's a girl to do...I had to go. Of course I got a late start, and by the time I left, I knew I needed to hurry...I guess I should mention that I needed to go to the lab and be there before noon, because that's the time in which they close. So...I was driving a little faster than I should have been...when what to my wondering eyes should appear right over the point of the mountain, but a cop. OH NO!!! Yep, he sees me. I know I'm busted. He gets behind me...on go the lights. CRAP, CRAP, CRAPPITY, CRAP! I'm in deep trouble here. I pull over, he comes to my door...it's at this moment that I realize my passenger side window won't roll down. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH THIS CAR? I unlock the door and he opens it...sorry, I say, the window won't roll down. I get out my driver's license and insurance card(which doesn't actually go into effect until January 25th...I think I replaced it too soon.) The cop asks me how fast I was driving...mmmm...about 79. He says 79 huh? I"m like, yep...that's what it said last time I looked at it. By the way officer, my registration is expired, but see these papers right here on the passenger seat...they are to register my car. I explain the Jiffy Lube incidence...in fewer words, leaving out McDonald's man details. He tells me, like I'm dumb, you know you can just do that online right? Oh yes, I know that Officer, BUT you have to have the purple and white form that comes in the mail that I cannot find anywhere, although I spent a half an hour looking for it just this morning...no luck. I explain to him...I need to make it to the lab before noon...uggghhh...I show him the paper requiring the lab work...I know he's thinking to himself...geez lady, I don't need to know everything about you. He says, give me one minute and we'll get you back on the road. He takes my license...comes back and tells me to get my car registered TODAY...apparently it's a $200 fine. He tells me to drive carefully...and off I go. WHAT? Sir, did you not just realize that I have no working signals, a window that doesn't roll down, I was speeding and my car is NOT registered? Thank you, thank you, thank you! Up to the lab I go. I get poked...no blood...she digs around for awhile, I'm not happy about this. Off to the other arm. I leave with cotton balls and tape on BOTH arms. Ok, the good thing is...I am in Draper, which means I get to go to Zupa's. I pull into the parking lot...I circle through the parking lot 5, yes, I said FIVE times. A lady turns down the same row I'm on...she's in a giant SUV. She can see there is no where for me to go. Does she back up, NO! She squeezes by me, almost scraping my car. I look over at her, give her a WTF smirk...what I'm really thinking is"I'd like to take a needle and staby it in YOUR arm!" I knew it was time to leave. I went across the street to Fazoli's...LAME! I drive slowly all the way home. The day is done. I have a registered car, non-working turn signals, and the reminder sticker in my window. I need a nap!

NEW SONG LIST

Ok, so do you ever scroll through your ipod, and you just can't find a single song you want to listen to? You're completely over all 600 songs on your ipod? Well, that's where I am at right now. I have a couple of new favorites:

Hot n' Cold by Katy Perry
Pocket Full of Sunshine by Natasha Beddingfield
That's Not My Name by the Ting Tings

AND my current favorite

The Show by Lenka

But...4 songs does not an ipod make.

I don't listen to the radio very often at all, so if any of you have any great new songs you're addicted to, or even old ones that are making a new showing on your ipod list, please leave me a comment with your new favorites so I can make them MY new favorites. :)

What to post...what to post...

Hello Followers...all three of you. :)

I am sorry that I have been so bad at posting lately. I haven't felt well, and have been struggling with what to post since I haven't really been out of the house for a week.

So...here goes. We (when I say "we", I really mean "me") decided to invite another family in our ward to participate in Family Home Evening with us. So, we decided that we would have FHE together every other Monday night and switch off on who would give the lesson. I of course, being the slacker I am...didn't plan anything. oops! So, Monday morning I decided, ok, we'll decorate Valentine's cookies...did I have a lesson to go with it? oh, heavens no. ...and of course I waited until the last minute to start making the cookie dough, and I hadn't even gone to Wal-Mart to buy decorations for the cookies, and Valentine's for the kids to give to their friends. The plan was that they would decorate their cookies for their friends and then deliver them with their Valentine's...now, I don't think that's really going to happen, since I was at my friend's yesterday and the cookies were still on the counter, and the kids were wanting to eat them. But I say, what the heck...eat them! So...back to not having anything done... At 6:45p.m. we left for Wal-Mart...oh, we were supposed to have FHE at 7p.m. oops. So, at 7:30p.m. my guests arrived for some good ole' fashioned cookie decorating. We had sugar cookies, pink frosting, conversation hearts, red hots, 5 different kinds of sprinkles, and Valentine's candy corns. We started off with a song, "When there's love at home" and then I winged it with the lesson. We talked about how we can show our friends and family members that we love them. The kids decorated their cookies...mostly with LOTS and LOTS of candy, and tons of pink sugar...edible, not sure. Anyway, we had a good time, and I'm happy that it's Cathy's turn in two weeks. :)

Garbage Day!

We have lived in our house for almost three years. Garbage day is and always has been on Thursdays, with the exception of the holiday days when it pushes the garbage day to Friday...but this is rare. So...when I'm sitting on the couch this morning and I hear the garbage truck coming...I run to the door, throw off my socks that I'm wearing with leggings, throw on some shoes and run out the street with my garbage can in tow. The garbage man, bless his heart, is on the other side of the street actually dumping garbage cans that people have left at the top of their driveway, forgetting to put them out on the street...I couldn't believe it...he actually took the time to walk up to their garage, grab the can and dump them. So, I'm standing across the street, shouting above the sound of the truck..."Have you already dumped our side of the street." No response, he hasn't heard me. I wait until he's on the other side of the truck, again I SHOUT, "Have you already dumped our side of the street?" He says no...hurray, I haven't missed garbage day. But, I realize that I have exited the house with no bra...and the cold weather has turned me to RT. Hands across my chest, I hurry back in the house, boobs jiggling a bit. I'm sorry garbage man...I am totally inappropriate and realize I now look like a frumpy housewife...but thank you for dumping my garbage. :)

Fat girl *thinks* about exercising

So...when I wake up in the morning and step on the scale, this picture is how I feel, minus the desire to workout. You would think this would be motivation to get my butt on the elliptical and just"do it." But for whatever reason, it's just not. I spend my entire day thinking, "I should go work out." But instead I find other things to do, like blog, surf the net, putter around the house, start a load of laundry...I couldn't possibly find the time to work out, could I? and for some reason I am always shocked when I step on the scale to find out I haven't lost any weight...come on, I skipped lunch...ok, so I did eat a JCW's kids meal for dinner, and several bags of fruit snacks, BUT HEY GUYS, I SKIPPED LUNCH. I am thrilled with the fact that I've lost 25 pounds since August, but when you have 70 more to lose, it doesn't seem that satisfying. It means I'm only a fourth of the way to my goal...yes, I can do math...thank you Springville High. Is losing weight enough motivation? or should we rather be motivated by being healthy, knowing we aren't going to die if we are healthy and work out, instead of being motivated by the white linen Bebe pants that have been in the back of my closet since the day we got married?
